Vstg Assistant Professor of Anthropology. The Department invites applications for an anticipated position as a visiting assistant professor of anthropology beginning July 1, 2012. The department has a unique interdisciplinary focus [see: www.williams.edu/anthsoc] that emphasizes qualitative research and theoretically informed analyses of major social institutions and processes. Therefore, fieldwork experience, as well as broad theoretical and substantive interests, are essential for this position. Areas of scholarly inquiry open, although courses in globalization, political anthropology, ecological/economic anthropology, and the anthropology of religion would be particularly welcome. Ph.D. should be in hand by the date of appointment. Visiting faculty teach five courses per year. Salary and benefits are competitive.
