Check it out! Rats, mice, and humans just about the same blood pressure (tells you something about what is required to push blood through an organ). But vastly different heart rates!!!! The general rule - the smaller the organism, the higher the heart rate. Some shrews have had heart rates measured at over 1000 beats / minute.
