The Annual Crown Gall conference brings together the community of life scientists working on species of Agrobacterium, plant-associated bacteria that cause the diseases crown gall, hairy root, root mat and related disorders on a wide variety of plants. The unique ability of this microbe to stably introduce DNA into the genetic material of plant hosts has been of great utility in plant biotechnology. Agrobacterium has also served as an important model system for the study of plant-microbe interactions, signal transduction, cell-cell communication, toxin secretion mechanisms and applied microbial genomics. The yearly conference focuses on recent advances in fundamental and applied research on Agrobacterium.
The 27th Annual Crown Gall Conference will begin Saturday morning, November 18 and wrap up by lunchtime on Sunday, November 19. We will have a number of thematically organized oral presentation sessions. A Saturday afternoon poster session in the '62 Center for Theatre and Dance and a banquet on Saturday evening will round out the activities.
All conference participants must register. Use the links to the left to register for this year's conference and to obtain additional information.
