  • Safari 4.3.3

What if my browser is supported but isn’t working?

Try these steps

  1. Clear any cookies.
  2. Make sure you are accepting cookies.
  3. Exit completely from your web browser and try logging in again.
  4. Or try a different browser.

Internet Explorer 10 notes

1. In PeopleSoft applications under certain conditions, the activity “spinner” may continue to spin and otherwise do nothing. Turning on IE compatibility mode will fix this. You can tell if it’s on if the “torn page” icon is blue, as shown below. Turn it on (or off) by clicking the torn page.

2. The drop-down list icons have a different look than with earlier IE versions, as shown here:

3. IE 10’s Do Not Track feature

The Do Not Track feature is on by default. This means that the browser will send a request to every web site you visit to ask it to not use tracking cookies to track your behavior. The web site may or may not honor that request. Whether this is on or off won’t affect your use of PeopleSoft.

Setting your browser for English Language.
If your browser is set to a language other than English, you must reset it.  You must have the English character set at the top of the list in order for PeopleSoft to recognize it. The instructions following are for Explorer 6 or 7.  If you are using something else as a browser, similar things may be occurring.  To install the English character set do the following:

1. Open a browser window
2. Click on Tools
3. Click on Internet Options
4. Click on Languages
5. You should get a window that looks like the one below.  If you do not have the 'English (United States) [en-us] option added, click on the Add button and then try again.

If you see odd error messages while trying to connect to the login page, this is probably a browser or operating system problem.  E-mail to stchelp@williams.edu for help; explain as much as you can about the error message and your software version information.
