ARTS 319(F) Junior Seminar

This class will address the intersection of process and theory in order to strengthen both studio abilities and analytical skills. Art making is full of subtle complexities surrounding the issues that enforce visual communication and meaningful content. Students will examine questions about the creative process and viewer response in contemporary art and in recent history. There will be several visiting artist presentations as well as readings to support the studio component. Evaluation will be based on the quality of work produced, depth and quality of investigative process, participation in class discussions, attendance, field trips and critiques. The course is limited to Art majors and is required of junior Art majors.
