MATH 100 Quantitative Studies


This course is intended for all students-(first-year students and upperclass students)-who want to strengthen their basic arithmetic and algebraic skills, and to understand the central concepts of elementary mathematics. Topics will include: signed numbers, fractions, decimals, percentages, exponents, logarithms, scientific notation, polynomials, algebraic fractions, linear and quadratic equations, and graphing. Concepts will be stressed in classroom lectures and discussions; techniques will be developed through daily assignments. Format: lecture. Evaluation will be based primarily on performance on quizzes and exams. Prerequisites: placement by a Qunatitative Studies Counselor. No enrollment limit (expected: 6).
