REL 402(S) Issues in the Study of Religion
To be conducted as a working seminar or colloquium. Major issues in the study
of religious thought and behavior will be taken up in a cross-cultural context
enabling the student to consolidate and expand perspectives gained in the course
of the major sequence. Topics will vary from year to year. In keeping with the
seminar framework, opportunity will be afforded the student to pursue
independent reading and research. Topic for 2006-2007 is Haunted: Ghosts in
the Study of Religion (see Religion 305 for description, however, note that it will
be offered as a seminar for students who enroll in 402).
Requirements: class reports, papers, and substantial research projects.
Prerequisites: senior major status or permission of instructor. Enrollment limit:
15 (expected: 4).
