Procedures for Local Residents to Audit Courses

The College is pleased to allow local residents to audit courses without any fee on a space available basis under the following conditions:

• The instructor must approve and he or she will decide upon the level of your participation, e.g., whether or not you should engage in class discussions, take tests, etc.
  
• There will be no academic record produced.
  
• There will be no method for verifying participation to outside agencies.

You can access the online catalog which will provide detailed information about the various courses, including class hours and classroom assignments once that information is available. There is also a printable PDF of the entire catalog (Williams College Catalog 2011-12).

In summary, then, you should contact the instructor and work out the details of your participation since the arrangements are really between the two of you.

We have done everything we can to keep the procedures simple so that we can provide this opportunity free of charge.
