Dhlomo-Mautloa was closely involved in the administration and directing of the first and second Johannesburg Biennales, and she assisted in procuring artwork for the new SA Constitutional Court. A big believer in public arts works, Dhlomo-Mautloa is also founder of the Zakhe Arts Project and a trustee of the Market Theatre in Johannesburg. Her own visual art work (paintings, collages, and prints) attends to the racial and sexual inequalities in apartheid and postapartheid South Africa ; her most recent exhibit, _No. 4: Doors, Graffiti, Walls, and All_, was inspired by graffiti found in solitary confinement cells of Johannesburg's former central prison complex. Dhlomo-Mautloa will be presenting two lectures on visual arts in contemporary South Africa . The second lecture will take place on March 5.
