35mm Slides

The Williams VR Slide Collection includes an extensive collection of over 180,000 35mm slides. In June 2009, the 35 mm slide collection of the Clark Art Institute was moved to the VRC. The two collections together number approximately 360,000 slides.

Art faculty currently teach with either digital or slide images according to their preference and the predominance of content available in either format in their field. The joint slide collections are used as a resource for the continued development of the Williams VR Digital Collection, created to compliment content available in major image databases licensed for the campus.

The slide collections were developed as a collaboration between the two institutions. Each institution collected complimentary material to insure that a depth of content would be available to the art community in Williamstown.
