Williams College Office of Admission seeks Tour Guides!
Completed applications must be submitted by 11:59pm eastern time on
Tuesday, January 22, 2013.
Tour guides give campus tours and/or co-facilitate group information
sessions about the College with members of the Admission staff. Tour
guides should be articulate and energetic, convey a high-level of
enthusiasm about the college, and be willing to share broadly about the
experiences of students at Williams.
The job entails about 3 hours of work per week, depending on the time of
year. Tour guides earn $8.75/hr in the first year, and $9.00/hr in
subsequent years. The schedule for tour and information sessions changes
throughout the year and can be found here: http://admission.williams.edu/visit/thevisit/infosessiontours
We will invite a subset of applicants for an interview upon reviewing
their applications. Interviews will take place during the first week of
spring semester. Please note that paid work will not begin until the fall
of 2013. Newly hired guides will attend several training sessions in the
spring semester, and also be expected to give tours during Williams
Previews for admitted students and their families as part of their
training (guides will be paid for training and Williams Previews tours.)
New guides will be added to the regular tour schedule in the fall of 2013.
Please note that all job offers will be contingent upon selected students
being in good academic and disciplinary standing throughout their tenure
at Williams. We reserve the right to rescind job offers based on academic
or disciplinary concerns.
