Candle Light Vigil for Syrian Student Victims, Mon,Jan 21, 8:00pm
A college campus is a sacred space, a sanctuary of sorts for students to
learn and grow. One should never feel threatened or have their safety
violated. For the students of Aleppo, Syria this was not the case.
On January fifteenth in the small town of Aleppo Syria at the
university of Aleppo students sat taking their first round of final exams.
Little did they know that soon they would be the victims of a university
bombing.
In light of these events universities across North America have held
regency vigils in honor of the 82 students killed and the many dozens
wounded. We will be holding a candle light vigil at williams college this
upcoming Monday January 21st at 8:00 pm on the Chapin hall steps.
We encourage you all to come and show your support and solidarity.
Take half an hour of your winter study time to honor the education that
you receive every day and to honor all those who died in pursuit of
theirs.
May their souls rest in peace. For more information, please go to http://www.facebook.com/events/468321276559027/?ref=ts&fref=ts
