Message details:
The latest version of Internet Explorer for Windows, Internet Explorer 10, brings with it some compatibility issues when used to run Peoplesoft applications. The default installation leaves the compatibility mode set to off. Peoplesoft applications require that the compatibility mode be set to "on". To turn on compatibility mode look for a small gray icon representing a torn sheet of paper on the top tool bar just to the right of the field used to enter a URL. Click the gray, broken paper icon and it will turn blue. Check that the icon stays blue after you move your mouse away. When the icon is blue, compatibility mode is turned on. A gray icon indicates that compatibility mode is turned off. The following symptoms can occur when compatibility mode is off while using IE10 to access Peoplesoft applications on a Windows pc: an x appears at the end of text entered in a search box, the processing animation in the upper right corner of the Peoplesoft window spins indefinitely, searching is not possible. Setting the compatibility mode to "on" as described above should fix the issue. Using an alternate browser such as a recent version of Firefox is another possible solution.
