Image alignment notes Roban Hultman Kramer Swarthmore College co2003 August 8, 2001 ------------- Programs ------------- The following programs were used in image alignment: fits_read.pro fits_write.pro from the IDL astronomy user library imstat.pro gives some image statistics shift_div_graph.pro allows a user to divide two images, display them and interactively specify fractional pixel offsets while updating the display. shift_im_cbc.pro shifts an image by fractional pixel amounts using a cubic convolution algorithm f_cbc.pro used by shift_im_cbc.pro ------------- Process Notes ------------- I began the proccess of image alignment by aligning each set of 1second polarizer images to one member of the set. This proccess is documented in the files: polar_0d_1s-shifting_notes.txt, polar_45d_1s-shifting_notes.txt, and polar_90d_1s-shifting_notes.txt. Now I will align the different sets of images to the first set. See polar_1s-shifting_notes.txt
