Light Pollution

The diorama was presented at an meeting on light pollution arranged by Dr. Margaret Metaxa, shown here with me and with Prof. G. Veis, the head of the Greek space agency. It took place in May 1999.

Three students, Dimitris Maroupas, Yiannis Dilis, and Charis Miliakos, from Arsakeio High School of Athens, Greece, made a diorama to illustrate light pollution.

They had two sets of street lights: one shielded at the top (left) and the other unshielded (right).

It is always nice to have a meeting near the Parthenon.
