Welcome to Introduction to Operations Research! I wanted to take a few minutes to introduce myself. I've posted a brief welcome letter introducing myself, my family and my research interests here (which has more recent pics of your TAs).

The purpose of this course is to expose you to advanced topics in linear algebra and operations research, with an emphasis on mathematical modeling and applying these and related methods to real world problems. In the process we will work on many skills useful for graduate school and beyond. Click here for a more detailed explanation of my objectives for the course. This course can count as either a math or a stats course. A major part of the semester will be a project (which can be done in a group), culminating  in a paper and presentation. This are very valuable skills. Additionally, I am working with local businesses to give you access to real world problems and consulting opportunities. There will also be an advisory board made up of recent Williams alumns.

If you have any concerns or suggestions for the course and would prefer to communicate them anonymously, you may email me by using the account ephsmath@gmail.com  (the password is the 1793williams; sadly due to increased security this may no longer work).

Looking forward to seeing you all.   //Steve

PS: Two of your TAs: Cam (he's now 15) and Kayla (now 13) from an earlier time when I taught this class....
