Welcome to Advanced Applied Analysis!

Greetings. I wanted to take a few minutes to introduce myself. I've posted a brief welcome letter introducing myself, my family and my research interests here.

There are two main goals to this course: to explore advanced concepts in analysis, and to learn problem solving skills and see how material is used. We will constantly emphasize the techniques we use to solve problems, as these techniques are applicable to a wide range of problems in the sciences. For a fuller statement as to the objectives of this course, please click here. This includes some fascinating videos with some thought provoking comments about what you should get out of your education.

If you have any concerns or suggestions for the course and would prefer to communicate them anonymously, you may email me by using the account ephsmath@gmail.com  (password 1793williams).

Looking forward to seeing you all.   //Steve

PS: My wife teaches at UMass Amherst. We have two kids, Cam (he's 10, but 5 below ) and Kayla (she's 8, but 3 below). These are from visiting relatives back east as they prepared, years ago, for their first TA positions....
