The Palazzo del Te virtual reality tour is based on Quicktime VR technology.
When the page loads you may click on the image of the palazzo, holding
the mouse button down, and drag the cursor in the direction that you want
to spin. You may also zoom in and out. There are hotspots on most of the
panoramas that allow you to navigate throughout the palazzo and to view
hi-resolution jpeg images of paintings and architectural details. To see
where these hotspots are defined, watch the cursor and when it changes
from the little circle to an arrow or globe-and-hand, click to follow
the link. To find the hotspots quickly, you may click on the little "?"
icon at the bottom of the Quicktime plug-in and they will appear in purple.
Click the "?" again to hide them. It is also possible to navigate
by clicking on the maps on the left side of the page.
Watch for links to videos in Loggia di Davide, Camera dei Giganti, and
Camera di Amore e Psiche. There is also ambiant room sound available in
Camera dei Giganti.
The virtual tour was created using a digital video camera (Sony DSR PD-150)
and Quicktime Virtual Reality Authoring Studio. Other software included
Macromedia Dreamweaver 4 and Adobe Photoshop 6. Stills were photographed
with a Canon EOS Elan IIe on 35mm film.
