Geology, Ecology, History and Conservation of Kalarama Orchards On Saturday, May 20 from 10-12, join professors Henry Art and Ronadh Cox for a lecture on the geology, ecology, history, and conservation of Kalarama Orchards (a noteworthy piece of property in the White Oaks/Sand Springs region of Williamstown). Message details:
Taking place in the auditorium at the Manton Research Center at the Clark Art Institute, the lecture will be led by Williams College Professor of Geosciences, Ronadh Cox, and the Samuel Fessenden Clarke Professor of Biology at Williams, Henry Art. Patrick Quinn will detail how this area is significant to Williamstown's history and will present stories about the orchard's secrets which may include tales of "sex and scandal". Scott Hoover, the current owner of Kalarama Orchards, will provide an account of the conservation of the property.
