Drinking and Men

Guys (like this one) tend to binge drink at a higher rate than women.

I'm a guy so I can handle my alcohol better than women and am at less risk for alcohol related problems.

It's true that men generally can consume more alcohol than women and be less affected. However, me are much more likely than women to suffer a fatality from drinking. These fatalities range from the immediate (drowing, driving accidents and bicycling accidents) and the long term (cardiovascular disease, cancer, stroke, STD's and cirrhoisis).

You may be a guy having just read this and thinking that you'll be fine and the problems will happen to others. Just remember that you're more at risk for fatalities than women so next time you're out partying watch out for yourself and others.
