• This study examined the relationship between expressed violence severity and alcohol and cocaine consumption (ACC) in the 90 days prior to substance abuse treatment among 125 men and 125 women recently enrolled in treatment.

Results of self-report instruments and interviews show that approximately 85% of the 18-73 yr old sample reported a significant conflict situation, and over 32% reported an incident of physical violence.
