Welcome to the website of the Community of Forensic Science Scholars developed with the support of the The Center for Workshops in the Chemical Sciences. The links below provide information about outstanding forensic science websites; about presentations made a national meetings; information about curricular innitiatives including courses, programs, and majors in forensic science; forensic science research programs; databases of educational materials; and workshops on incorporating forensic science into the undergraduate curriculum.

Valuable forensic science links:

Norah Rdin and Keith Inman developed a Forensic Science Timeline of the milestones in forensic science.

A Forensic Science timeline was presented by The Forensic Scientist.

One of the most comprehensive sites is maintained by Reddy P. Chamakura - called Reddy's Forensic Page.

One of the best forensic science websites is Zeno's Forensic Site.

An extensive website with many forensic links is at Law-Forensic.com

An excellent list of books related to forensic science topics is at The Criminalists Bookstore.

Links to Forensic Science Organizations:

The American Academy of Forensic Science.

The Forensic Science Society of the United Kingdom.

American Chemical Society, 233rd National Meeting, Chicago, March 25-29, 2007: Center for Workshops in the Chemical Sciences, Sessions 2 and 4, Forensic Science

During my Forensic Science workshop, I provide the participants with a list of forensic science books. I don't claim that it is comprehensive and would welcome suggestions for additions. I post it here for your use. Forensic Science Books

A number of specialty companies supply forensic science equipment, supplies, and reagents. Other companies provide more general supplies that have strong applications to the field of forensic science. And a number of companies have developed a range of kits that illustrate forensic science principles for different ages. I've provided a list of these companies but would welcome others which I have not incuded.

Many articles have been published in the original literature that are very valuable as reference when developing course material - for both lectures and laboratories. Also valuable are the articles in the chemical education literature. Posted here is a list of articles, on a variety of forensic science topics, from the Journal of Chemical Education.
