Module Recap
Making Research Less Painful:
- Look for clues in the library database records to help you determine what type of source you have found and whether it will be useful for your research.
- Keep things organized by using physical or virtual folders to store citations and sources.
- Keep track of what you've done, what worked, and what didn't.
- Take good notes, making sure to indicate your words versus the author's words.
- Print out or save web pages that you plan to use as sources for your assignment
Planning, Timing, and Keeping Things on Track:
- Make sure you understand the assignment.
- Estimate how long your assignment will take and double it.
- Break your assignment down into small pieces & set deadlines for them.
- Get help with research if you need it.
- Leave yourself enough time to do the assignment.
- Bounce ideas around with people.
- Take advantage of the resources available to you.
