The North Berkshire Center for Religion and Science (NBCRS) was founded in 2005 by the Metanexus Institute and Williams College to promote constructive discussions of the relationship of science to religion in our region, which includes Berkshire County Massachusetts, Southern Vermont and Eastern New York State. Over the past five years NBCRS has sponsored dinner/discussion seminars among Christian and Jewish clergy, each paired with a member of their congregation, Williams College faculty discussion seminars, and courses both for Osher Lifelog Learning Institute members and open to the general public. In October 2009 we sponsored a visit from physics Nobel Laureate William D.Phillips, who addressed the question, "Does Science Make Belief In God Obsolete," in discussions with Williams College students and townspeople.
