Horus

This bronze shows Horus in the form of a falcon. Horus was known originally as a sky god depicted as a falcon; later, he also came to be known as a god of the sun and as the son of Osiris and Isis. Horus is shown here wearing two crowns: the red crown of Lower Egypt (the bottom crown) and the white crown of Upper Egypt (the bowling-pin shape resting inside the other crown). The double crown signifies his rule over all of Egypt. Pharaohs saw themselves as the successors of Horus, who inherited the kingship over Egypt after the death of his father, Osiris.

This bronze includes careful linear details such as feathers on the body and the facial features.
